Theory · working draft v0
The architecture around intelligence
Foundation models are becoming very capable, but capability alone does not make a system reliable. We study how capable models should be organized into systems that ground claims in evidence, verify, remember, collaborate and correct themselves. Noetis is the experimental and production architecture where these ideas are tested.

Working propositions (v0)
- Reliability is a property of the system's process, not only of the underlying model.
- Locating a quotation and judging whether it supports a claim are separate operations.
- The object that should carry confidence is the final revised answer, not the first draft.
- An architecture change counts as an improvement only when measured against a matched-cost baseline on an adjudicated endpoint.
97 open hypotheses; none yet tested. These propositions are positions to be tested, not results.
Roadmap to Round 50 · currently Round 30
- Rounds 1–15
Foundations
Specialist coordination, evidence review, release gates, evaluation repair, label uncertainty, and useful communication.
- Rounds 16–25
Measured revision
Run the proposed pilots; establish adjudicated endpoints and matched-cost baselines.
- Rounds 26–40
Ablation and memory
Isolate which components carry the effect; study working memory and procedure reuse.
- Rounds 41–50
Theory v1
Intended convergence into a first formal Theory of Collaborative Intelligence, keeping only hypotheses that survive testing.
Stated direction, not a commitment to particular results.
